UF1
Main functions of ultrafiltration
Removes suspended solids
Sand, silt, clay, and fine particles are physically blocked by the UF membrane.
Removes microorganisms
UF effectively removes bacteria, protozoa, and most viruses, making water microbiologically safe.
Reduces turbidity
Produces very clear water (low NTU), often < 1 NTU.
Protects downstream treatment units
Acts as pretreatment for Reverse Osmosis (RO) by preventing membrane fouling and extending RO membrane life.
Removes colloids and organic matter
Eliminates colloidal particles and high-molecular-weight organic compounds.
Provides consistent water quality
Delivers stable output water quality regardless of fluctuations in raw water quality.
