To cook rice, you can follow these steps:
1. Measure the desired amount of rice. A general rule is to use 1 cup of rice for every 2 cups of water.
2. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove any excess starch and impurities.
3. In a saucepan, add the rinsed rice and the appropriate amount of water. You can also add a pinch of salt for flavor if desired.
4. Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
5. Allow the rice to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until all the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender.
6. Once the rice is cooked, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. This allows the rice to steam and become fluffier.
